Part-Time and Affordable Recording Classes:

We hold classes right here at Revolution Audio "for the rest of us." Recording courses which are accesable both in terms of time and money on a part time basis. We are not (yet) a degree granting institution, but will give you tools you need to get recording and producing like the pros in your own home studio. OIART offers North America's first and longest running integrated immersion program for Audio Engineering and Production studies (since 1983). We have the largest full-time faculty of any audio school in the country who together share over 250 years of industry and curriculum-design experience. Students from around the globe are immersed in a technical environment that never looses sight of aesthetic production goals. Utilizing 6 on-site professionally equipped studios that also contain 2 theatre-style lecture studios, our students develop an industry proven skill-set that leads to a remarkable 94% placement rate amongst our honours graduates.

All of the 1,300 plus hours of the 11-month program are in-studio with over 50% dedicated to student hands-on in very small groups (1 to 4 students). Description: Surround sound, interactive CDs, and DVDs: Audio has come along way since the early days of vinyl. For individuals interested in professional engineering in the digital age or just learning how to work with and create sound, the Independent Recording Arts program at the Art institute, Vancouver is the perfect educational vehicle.

Students train in digital and analogue recording studios using linear and non-linear recording technologies. Curriculum includes topics such as professional session engineering, microphone techniques, outboard equipment, MIDI, signal flow, critical listening, and audio/acoustic principles.
